About the Studio

A studio built on attention.

Atelier Pilates exists for the person who wants to be seen — fully seen — when they practice. Quiet, considered, uncompromising.

The Owners

Meet the people behind Atelier Pilates.

Atelier Pilates is led by Connie Lofgren and Donna Walid — two instructors who share a commitment to private, personalized Pilates taught with patience, precision, and care.

Connie Lofgren, co-founder of Atelier Pilates

Connie Lofgren

Co-Founder, Certified Pilates Instructor & Movement Specialist

Connie Lofgren is the co-founder, certified Pilates instructor, and movement specialist at Atelier Pilates. Fully certified by Pilates on Fifth in Manhattan, she has been teaching since 2015 and has experience working with clients of varied ages, abilities, and movement backgrounds.

Her experience teaching within a physical therapy practice shaped an attentive, individualized approach to Pilates. Every session is thoughtfully tailored to help clients build strength, explore mobility, and move with greater confidence and ease.

A lifelong athlete, dancer, and musical theater performer, Connie developed an early appreciation for body awareness, balance, and movement that continues to influence her teaching today.

Her passion for Pilates is also deeply personal. After her own cervical spine and shoulder surgeries, Connie found Pilates to be a valuable part of returning to movement. Those experiences inform the patience and empathy she brings to her teaching.

Before pursuing Pilates full-time, Connie worked in the corporate world at Yahoo! and NBCUniversal. After becoming a mother, Pilates helped her reconnect with strength, flexibility, balance, and mind-body awareness, inspiring her to dedicate her career to helping others explore those same meaningful benefits.

Donna Walid, co-founder of Atelier Pilates

Donna Walid

Co-Founder, Certified Reformer Pilates Instructor & Movement Specialist

With nine years of dedicated Pilates practice and experience learning in Aspen, Costa Rica, New York City, and Hoboken, Donna brings a thoughtful, individualized approach to movement that helps clients build strength, explore mobility, and move with greater confidence in everyday life.

As a Certified Reformer Pilates Instructor through Balanced Body, Donna also has advanced training in working with older adults, athletes, and clients during and after pregnancy. With appropriate professional clearance when needed, she creates personalized sessions that meet each individual where they are.

Donna turned to Pilates almost a decade ago after developing hip, hip-flexor, and pelvic-floor concerns as a runner. She found Pilates helpful as she managed those issues and continued running.

Donna's approach extends beyond movement. As a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and Breathwork Coach, she believes lasting wellness comes from supporting the whole person. Her teaching brings together mindful movement, breath, and practical habits to support body awareness and resilience.

Her mission is to create a welcoming, supportive environment where every client — regardless of age, fitness level, or experience — can explore Pilates and leave each session feeling stronger, more connected, and empowered.

Our Mission

To offer Pilates the way it was meant to be taught — privately, patiently, and with the full attention of a teacher devoted to your progress.

We believe that exceptional movement education is an act of care. It cannot be rushed, mass-produced, or templated. Our studio is small by design — because attention does not scale.

The Studio

A quiet room on the third floor.

Atelier Pilates lives in a sunlit suite above Lorraine Avenue in Upper Montclair — natural light, warm neutral tones, and well-maintained classical apparatus.

When you arrive, the room is yours. The session is yours. We’ll meet you at the door.
